A very interesting phenomenon that we can observe very much, that actually, in my opinion, is not new, is the playing role of the rich person. Quite some people that we interact with in our daily lives manifest this behavior.
I think this can be a reminder that there are roles that we all play in our social interactions, like, for example, the role of a father, the role of the single man, the role of our profession, the role of our material wealth, and so on. So all these are like the roles that actors play in the movies; when the movie ends and they start working on another movie, the roles change. In our daily lives things are also like this; if our external circumstances change, our societal roles will also change, like, for example, starting in a relationship, marrying, changing jobs, etc.
So this phenomenon of actively playing a role, like the rich person role, seems to manifest the aspect of people who might lose their identities and think that the roles they play are actually themselves. Some people might want to feel superior to others, so they might manifest pride, maybe due to their high salary, and so on.
But in my opinion, I think it's very healthy to not think about all these roles as our real identity. Like this we might feel more light hearted, more happy and more genuine. Our relationships will be more meaningful. Because in the end we are all humans, we all struggle with almost the same things, if we all have enough longevity, will face old age, we will face sicknesses, and we all will face death. So we are all the same, so we should not think that the roles we play in the movie are our real identity.
