Hello everyone, I hope you all are doing well. Today I want to write about an interesting social phenomenon that I believe is not new. It seems that some people after thirty or in their thirties, start to give more importance to how society sees them instead of how they really feel and what they really are. This phenomenon is what people call "living for the appearance."
In my opinion this is more a worldly phenomenon, because people who enter into a path in the Dharmic religions, namely, the Jaina-dharma (Jainism), the Santana-dharma (Hinduism) and the Buddha-dharma (Buddhism), should think a bit differently from the majority of people who follow worldly paths or philosophies.
The result of this mindset should be a frustration that these people will feel in life and they will end up projecting this frustration to others. They might judge the successful and the unsuccessful according to the parameters of the majority of the people of the society, which in turn will be bad parameters because the majority of people in our age follow unskillful philosophies, so in our age to not follow the majority many times is a very good thing to do.
So this should be a thing for people to be aware of and to not mingle too much with people who have this kind of attitude should be good for our happiness and inner peace.
All the best to everyone.
